Rosholt Weather Station

ROSHOLT WEATHER STATION

The Pope Soil and Water Conservation District has a weather station located at the Rosholt Research Farm in Westport, Minnesota.  This weather station is also 1 of 12 stations managed by East Otter Tail SWCD in central Minnesota.  East Otter Tail SWCD provides maintenance and support to Pope SWCD.  Funding for the weather stations has been provided by Clean Water Funds through the Minnesota Department of Ag (MDA) and the University of Minnesota. These weather stations are meant to aide the farm community to make management decisions.  The Pope SWCD checks and maintains this information here  Westport Weather Station Daily Weather Report.

This weather information can also be found on NDAWN which has fully integrated all 12 weather stations into their website from central Minnesota. This means these stations have access to all of the applications available on the NDAWN website such as Corn GDD, Crop Water Use, Soybean GDD, Wheat/Small Grain Disease Forecaster and the list goes on. Here is a link to the website https://ndawn.ndsu.nodak.edu/ if you would like to go check it out for yourself.  There is also an app available that can be downloaded to any smartphone.
