Irrigation Clinic to Be Held on March 6 in Greenwald

Stearns County Soil and Water Conservation District is co-hosting the Irrigators Clinic on Monday, March 6, 2023, at the Greenwald Pub. This event will be of interest to anyone who is

actively engaged in irrigation on agricultural lands and interested in soil health, farm economics, and research. 

A great line-up of speakers has committed to participating in the event representing: University of Minnesota, Minnesota Department of Agriculture, Modern Farm Equipment, and Minnesota State Agricultural Center of Excellence.  

Topics to be addressed during the day includes Managing Nitrogen for Corn Production in Irrigated Sands, Irrigation RCPP to Implement Innovative Irrigation Practices, Local Perspective on Cropland Irrigation Practices, Lesson Learned from Irrigation Management Research in Minnesota, Soil Moisture Sensors for Irrigation Systems, Crop Response to Extreme Temperature and Water, Conservation Economics on Minnesota Farms.

CEUs for Certified Crop Advisors (approval pending) will be offered.

Event registration begins at 9:00AM, with the program commencing at 9:15AM and concluding at 3:00PM. The cost to attend is $10 and lunch is included. Pre-registration is requested and can be completed online at: https://arcg.is/0L8Db8 (it is a Zero, not a O). If paying by check, please send a $10 check to Stearns SWCD Attention: Sharyn, 110 2nd St. Suite 128, Waite Park, MN 56387 by Monday, February 27, 2023. Registration at the door will increase to $20.

The event location is at Greenwald Pub 310 1st Ave North, Greenwald, Minnesota, 56335.

The event is sponsored by: MN Ag Water Quality Certification Program, Citizens Alliance Bank, EarthScout, Nutrien Ag Solutions, West Central Irrigation, Inc., Bonanza Valley State Bank, Pro-Ag Farmers Cooperative, Chippewa Valley Ethanol Company, Belgrade Coop Association, NutraDrip Irrigation Systems, Grand Irrigation, Inc., and Cold Spring Coop. 

The event is organized by Stearns, Pope, Swift, Kandiyohi, and Douglas Soil and Water Conservation Districts and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.
